Costs and charges for tenants
At Oakhill we want to make sure you’re always fully informed. In particular, it’s important that there are no grey areas about who pays for what. Here’s a checklist of the charges that you, the tenant, should budget for.
Before your tenancy begins
As well as paying for your rent, you’ll also have to pay:
Your deposit (usually equivalent to five weeks’ rent)
Preliminary Deposit
Oakhill Residential require a one week preliminary deposit from you which will be made once your offer has been accepted. This will be put towards your first months’ rent and will only be refunded if for any reason our client elects not to proceed.
During your tenancy
+ Utilities (gas, electricity, water and telephone)
+ Council Tax
+ Television Licence
+ Installation of cable/satellite (if permitted and applicable)
+ Subscription to cable/satellite supplier
+ Insurance (for your personal belongings)
+ Garden maintenance if applicable
At the end of your tenancy
+ Professional cleaning of the property
+ Dilapidations (as agreed, if any)
